Building a Tower of Strength
Dear family, friends and partners,
“Hear my cry O God, attend unto my prayer. From the ends of the earth will I cry unto Thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” These are the first words from Psalm 61. It goes on to talk about a shelter and a strong tower. This is what we are doing at Tower of Strength Ministries, building a place of refuge. Below you will see a few pictures.
We have started to build the first two homes. To see this vision come to fruition and be able to rescue the orphan, we need your help. We cannot do this without you. We could be so overwhelmed by the needs that are rising everyday but we stand on God’s Word. Psalm 57.2″ I will cry to God Most High who accomplishes all things for me.”
The Lord spoke these words to Me. I want you to build homes for widows and orphans where the children rescued can receive the love of a Father and Mother. Break the orphan spirit, the spirit of poverty and see My Love poured into their hearts. We believe that the “you” in that last sentence is everyone of us working together.
As you can see from the pictures above, the foundations have been finished and the walls are going up. This is so exciting to see. We have raised enough support to put the roof on the first house, which will start in about two weeks. Everyone that has seen a house being built, knows that there is much more than meets the eye to see a home completed. Once the roof goes on, then comes the windows and doors, the electrical, the plumbing, the flooring, the toilets and sinks. The needs are many just to complete one home and we have started two. In addition with the covid crisis the cost of goods has doubled and tripled for many items. the cost of wood and concrete has increased exponentially.
Tower of Strength Ministries needs your support in the main areas listed below:
- A vehicle: the ministry’s vehicle that has been operating for the last three years has depreciated and can’t operate anymore. The vehicle is useful for day-to-day ministry’s activities like the feeding programs we hold along with carrying supplies to the construction site. It will be used in transporting children as they join the Tower of Strength family.
- A water tower, solar powered pump and all the plumbing for water distribution tools. Tower of Strength Ministries was able to acquire a small storage water tank, but it is not enough to fulfill the water supply needs.
- Funding for all the above items: Electrical, Plumbing. Flooring
There are many needs as the building project advances. We are asking you to sow a seed and respond to this invitation to partner with God in caring for widows and orphans through Tower of Strength Ministries. Help us finish these first two houses and move in some children before the end of this year. Together with your help we will continue building this Kingdom project.
